Our Scripture reading today is Luke 18:1, "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"
It seems like more Christians would pray more knowing the impact it makes on someone's life.  Dr. Luke tells us this morning that being faithful to prayer will keep us from fainting.  The Apostle Paul gives us a three word admonition in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing."  While these challenges sound quite simple, they are anything but easy.  Since prayer is powerful, our enemy is constantly distracting us from praying or praying more than we are now.
Prayer is our communication with the God of the Universe.  It ought to be done faithfully and fervently.  Colossians 4:12, "Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God."  Prayer is both a privilege and a responsibility.  It should be the last of our efforts, but it should be a primary effort.  Oswald Chambers said, "Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; Prayer IS the greater work"!
