Our Scripture reading today is Luke 16:10-13.
Verse 10, "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much."
What has God given us? The simple answer is...everything. While we may have worked diligently and hard to earn the position we have, God is the One Who gave us the life and daily strength to work that job. There is no such thing as a self made man or woman. James 1:17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
The verses we read in Luke 16 point to money as being a small thing. Jesus is teaching that if we cannot handle the finances God gives us, we are going to have a difficult time being faithful with the bigger things. If someone is not faithful with the money God gives them, how can they be faithful with the care of people? The riches we have belong to God. It is our responsibility to manage them faithfully so His blessing will remain upon our lives. Obedience always brings blessings.
