Our Scripture reading today is 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18.
Verse 17, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
We are created in the image of God and for eternity.  Physical death only ends our temporal dwelling place, our body.  Every one will live on in either one of two places: Heaven or Hell.  The God Who created us desires for us to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.  John 14:3, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
The last phrase of verse 17 is one of great encouragement.  It says, "So shall we ever be with the Lord."  There is coming a day when all of the redeemed will be with our Lord for ever.  Nothing can separate us from our unity with Jesus and other believers.  We will be with the Lord for all eternity.  No more sin!  No more death!  No more disease!  How beautiful Heaven must be.  This gives us all the hope we need to live today with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Have a wonderful day.
