Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 9:11-15.
Verse 12, "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."
What a difference is made between the animal sacrifices of the Old Testament and the Lamb of God sacrifice in the New Testament.  The OT one was made over and over again.  It was a temporary covering.  The NT one was made once for ALL.  It was a perfect, voluntary sacrifice made out of love for sinful man.  This sacrifice would only be made one time.  The cross was a full and forever payment.  It provided eternal redemption.
We have been reconciled to God by the death of His Son.  His miracles and teaching did not atone for our sins.  The wages of sin is not miracles.  The wages of sin is and always will be death.  The LORD Jesus died in our place.  The LORD Jesus shed His sinless blood so we could be reconciled to the Father.  “Blood in Scripture always includes the two thoughts of a death suffered and a life offered.” (Griffith Thomas) Heaven is the eternal home of every follower of Jesus Christ.  While here on this earth, we have the privilege to live for the One Who died for us.
Have a wonderful day.
