Our Scripture reading today is Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."

We all know there are times when it is easier to be someone's friend.  There are other times when true friendship is put to the test.  The same can be said about being a friend to you and me as well.  True friendship will be seen in the most challenging of times.  Our example to follow is the Lord Jesus.  He is definitely that friend that is closer than a brother.  He is/was a friend even when it is not returned.  Notice how He referred to Judas in Matthew 26:50, "And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him."

A couple of questions come to mind when I read this verse:  1. How many true friends do I have?  More importantly, 2.  Am I a true friend to anyone?
