Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 126:6, "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."
There is a formula in our text this morning that results in a spiritual harvest. First, we must be willing to go. By going, it does not mean we have to leave our country of birth (It could mean that for you). Every day we leave the home, we are going somewhere. Next, we need to go with a tender heart. Do we see people as living souls who will spend eternity in either heaven or hell? Next, when we go with a heart of compassion, we must have the Gospel with us. The simplest way I know how to do this is to carry Gospel tracts. As we go about our day, we offer the Gospel tract to those who God brings across our path. I hope that by now we know the importance of carrying Gospel tracts everywhere we go.
God blesses this formula with "sheaves". Sheaves are a representation of people who get saved because someone went with a tender heart and planted the Gospel seed. God must do the saving, but we must do the planting!
