Our Scripture reading today is Luke 18:28-30.
Verse 28, "Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee."
The disciples had given up almost everything to follow the Lord Jesus. In contrast, the rich young ruler was not willing to give up what had ahold of him. These disciples were willing to set aside career and family in order to follow the calling that was placed on their life.
What might we be asked to leave behind in order to follow the Lord Jesus? What might we have to give up in order to fully live for Him? Would we be willing or would we walk away to continue to build our kingdom? These are questions that will come to every follower of Jesus Christ. It was separates the followers from the disciples. I am not sure which one I am, but I do desire to bring God glory by willing obeying His every leading in my life. Do I do this? Unfortunately, there have been times when I said no to Him and yes to me.
By God's grace, we can follow Christ fully and see Him to great and mighty works in and through us.
