Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 4:7-8.
Verse 7, "But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ."
The grace of God is not only needed for salvation, it is also needed for our every day living. Grace is the free, unmerited giving of God to sinners like you and me. In addition to eternal life, we are all given gifts of grace that are to be used for the edification of the family of God. Verse 12, "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"
Once again, we are reminded of the importance of being connected to a local, Bible preaching church. How can you use the gifts God has given you when you simply attend a church service every now and then? I thank God for everyone who attends a service at Anchor Baptist Church, but that is not the sole purpose God saved us. God saved us and gifted us that we might give to others. In what way are you encouraging the body of Christ...your local church? It is time for God's people to dust off their gifts and start looking for ways to put them to use for the glory of God.
