Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:17-20.

Verse 20, "And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them."

How could these shepherds not praise God for everything they had witnessed?  The angelic choir that lit up the night sky would not soon be forgotten.  Seeing the Christ child exactly as they were told would have given them reason enough to rejoice for days on end.

It should not take long for someone who accepts Christ as Saviour to have this same level of glorifying and praising.  Think of some of what God has provided for us.  We have the completed Scripture!  Any time we want to, we can open the inspired Word of God and hear His message.  We have the church!  Several times every week, we are blessed to gather together with the family of God.  Too many Christians are missing out by attending church so infrequently.  We have the Holy Spirit living within us!  There is no place we can travel where we are alone.

I say we should be glorifying and praising God every day like these shepherds did in Luke 2.
