Our Scripture reading today is Judges 7:2, "And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me."

There were too many soldiers in the army that Gideon was going to lead.  Even though the Midianite army was much larger, God wanted to make sure they knew Who provided them the victory.

Zechariah 4:6, "Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."

Psalm 20:7, "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God."

Any and all victories that we have in our lives are because God provided them for us.  We lean on His almighty and everlasting arms for the strength to overcome our enemy.
