Our Scripture reading today is James 1:17-18.
Verse 17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
Our Heavenly Father does not change. This is what James means when he write there is no variableness in Him. How quickly you or I will change how we feel based on certain circumstances or based on how someone treats us. God is the same every day. His attributes are not impacted by the world in which we live. He is still all powerful and always will be. His love for us is not impacted by how we live our lives. "God is love." 1 John 4:8
Whatever needs you have today, God is able to meet them. Whatever fears you have today, God is able to calm them. His good and perfect gifts are constant. They will never run out. While we at times are not dependable; God can always be leaned on to fulfill His promises. He has not never missed an appointment and He will not start with you. Meditate for a few moments on our NEVER changing God.
