Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:25-26.
Verse 26, "And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ."
What an amazing time it would have been for Simeon to hold baby Jesus in his arms. (Verse 28) The revelation he had been given was now fulfilled. It says in verse 25 that the Holy Ghost was upon him. Keep in mind, this was prior to the Holy Ghost being given to every believer at salvation. Jesus Christ said this would happen after He returned to Heaven. Simeon lived in such a way that God allowed him to see and hold the Messiah before he died.
God has not stopped revealing Himself to people today. Every time someone opens the precious Word of God, he is revealling Himself to them. Every time someone looks at majestic mountains or mighty seas, God is revealling Himself. Even as born again believers, God desires that we know Him more and more. To know Him more is to love Him more. To know Him more is to yield to Him more. Could we be missing out on something special simply because we want our will to be fulfilled? Surrender today and get ready for miracles.
