Our Scripture reading today is Deuteronomy 8:11-18.

Verse 18, "But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."

In these verses of Scripture, the nation of Israel receives a reminder from Moses with regards to Who provided everything for them.  While they may have worked hard to get where they were, it was God Who gave them the strength to do the work.  It was God Who delivered them from the bondage of Egypt and led them all the way to the Promised Land.

Let us all pause and remember for a few moments where God has brought us from.  Think back to the time and place when you were given the glorious Gospel and recognized your need for the Saviour.  How about all the times God provided the need just in time.  Our loving Heavenly Father continues to faithfully lead us through our own wilderness journeys.  We all ought to follow the example of the Levites in 1 Chronicles 23:30, "And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even;"
