Our Scripture reading today is John 10:9-11.
Verse 11 - "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."
We have the hope of eternal life because the Son of God is also the Lamb of God. The Lord Jesus lovingly and willingly laid down His life that the world might be saved from the penalty of their sin. His shed blood being applied to the mercy seat gives us the privilege of being called a child of God.
In addition, we have the Him as our Shepherd every day. Our Saviour provides all that we need. The song writer wrote it best, "Christ is all I need...all, all I need." The Psalmist writes, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want." He loves and cares for each one of His sheep. I Peter 5:7, "Casting all your care on him; for he careth for you." Talk to your Shepherd today!
