Our Scripture reading today is Luke 7:8-9.
Verse 9, "When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."
Last night, I was talking to two men before the service.  I could not remember the reference, but this verse was mentioned.  Coincidence?  No, God!  When I read these two verses, I could not believe what I was reading.  I was amazed, of course, by the Word of God, but I was also amazed at the Sovereignty of our God.
The Lord Jesus marvels at the faith of a Gentile.  He even says that He has not seen such faith in Israel.  The centurion believed that just a word from Jesus would bring healing to his servant.  He was not caught up in anything superstitious.  It was a simple confidence in the power of Jesus Christ.
We can all learn from the example of this centurion.  Our challenge or crisis is not too difficult for our God.  He is more than capable of delivering us from whatever we find ourselves overcome by.  Psalm 50:15, "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."  If He did it for Daniel, He will do it for you!  Daniel 6:10, "Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee."
"Have faith in God."  Mark 11:22
