Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:25-27.
Verse 25, "But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation."
It is always a humbling experience to be rejected.  Regardless of the context, everyone wants to be received and accepted.  Based on our reading this morning, we should not be surprised when rejection comes at the name of Jesus Christ.  Jesus Himself was rejected and suffered the cruel death of the cross.  He humbly allowed this to take place.  His rejection led to our being accepted by the heavenly Father.
We should gladly proclaim our Saviour's name in spite of the rejection that may come our way.  2 Timothy 3:12, "Yes, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."  It is a privilege to be an ambassador for the One Who gave His life that we might have eternal life.  The next time He comes there will not be a Calvary.  He is coming not as a lowly lamb but as conquering lion.  Today is another day we have to be a voice encouraging others to see the Lamb of God and turn to Him for forgiveness of sins.
