Today's Scripture reading is Acts 1:1-3.

Verse 2, "...he through the Holy Ghost...

In John 16:7, Jesus Christ promised to send the Comforter (Holy Spirit).  "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."  The Holy Spirit is the source of our power.  The power needed to live a Christ honouring life comes from the Holy Spirit.  In John 16:13, Jesus says that the Spirit guides us to truth.  It was the Holy Spirit that penned the Word of God.  (See 2 Peter 1:21) We as believers are in dwelt by the Holy Spirit.  He has taken up residence in our lives.  What is needed in our daily lives is to be filled with the Spirit.  (See Ephesians 5:18) Are we allowing God's Spirit to have control of our decisions?  Are we being sensitive to God's will on any given matter?

More than ever before we need a church filled with Spirit filled believers.  We need a church filled with God's people who are allowing God's Spirit through God's Word to direct their paths.  What am I describing?  REVIVAL!
