Our Scripture reading today is James 5:14-18.
Verse 15, "And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."
There is no question in my heart that God still heals sick people.  God has, is, and always will be working mighty miracles.  It must also be said that it is not always God's will to heal.  The Apostle Paul was told that God's grace was sufficient and as far as we know was never healed of his "thorn in the flesh."  I can honestly say that not a week goes by that I hear of someone personally or through a friend that needs healing.  This week, I have received 2 telephone calls from people who are facing great physical trials.  In both cases, they have been in the trial for some time, and there seems to be no end in sight.  It is a blessing to know that God has not nor will He abandon His children.
As we pray for our sick family and friends, we must pray believing that God is able to raise them up.  Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."  We have seen God's healing power in the past.  These miracles are what help to strengthen our faith.  While we are praying for His healing in someone's life, we are praying according to His will.  1 John 5:14, "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:"
Does God always heal?  No
Can God heal?  YES!
Keep seeking the will of the Great Physician and by faith claiming the promises of God's Word!
