Our Scripture reading today is 1 Peter 5:5-6.
Verse 5, "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."
These verses of God's Word present us with several daily struggles.  One glaring struggle we all come up against is putting on the robe of humility.  The phrase, "clothed with humility", has to do with a slave putting on an apron before serving.  We see Jesus Christ setting the example in John 13:4, "He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself."  This is not one of the disciples.  This is Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God showing us a convicting example.
Humility as in Peter's day is still for, "all of you..."  The pastor and the people are to strive to serve the Lord and one another.  Humility is an all including message.  We will be clothed properly when we are willing to aside our agenda for the agenda of others.  Most importantly we would set aside our agenda for our Heavenly Father's agenda.  It is a daily struggle that can be overcome as we walk in the Spirit.  Galatians 5:16, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."
