Our Scripture reading today is Jeremiah 15:20-21.
Verse 20, "And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD."
As God was with Jeremiah in the most difficult of times, even so God is with us today!  The enemy is still fighting, but God is still delivering His children.  The statement that God's Spirit used this morning to arrest my attention was, "For I am with thee..."  Creator God is with us today!  Almighty God is with us today!  Isaiah 41:10, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."  He did not say I will be with thee.  He said, "I AM with thee..."  This is a present tense statement.
Jeremiah definitely did not have it easy as a prophet of God.  His audience was not too thrilled with his message.  He stayed faithful to his calling in spite of the many challenges along the way.  One consistent in his life was the presence and power of God.  These and and many other promises of God are found all through the pages of Scripture.  Jeremiah 30:11, "For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished."
