Our Scripture reading today is Luke 4:38-40.
Verse 39, "And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them."
We see the healing power of Jesus on full display in these three verses. Peter's mother in law is not only healed of the fever, but immediately has enough strength to serve the people who are in the home. I don't know too many people who are ready that quickly to be up and around serving people after recovering from an illness. This is a miracle healing by Jehovah Rapha.
I believe we can make a comparison to when someone comes to Jesus Christ for salvation. The sinner is immediately forgiven of all sins. The sinner is immediately in dwelt by the Spirit of God and can be filled with the Spirit of God to live in daily victory. This new believer immediately has the power to begin serving the King of Kings. The spiritually healing is immediate and complete.
