Our Scripture reading today is Luke 5:25-26, "And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day."
The man who came on a couch left on his own two feet. The man who was completely dependent on others to move him about was able to carry his bed home. I really like the word, immediately. There was no delay in this man's healing. He did not have to come back for a follow up appointment. This man needed only one appointment with the Great Physician to be made whole.
We can say the same about our needing to be delivered from the penalty of our sin. Our salvation was immediate. The very moment we called on the LORD to save our sin sick soul, we were immediately cleansed of every sin. Salvation is a moment not a process. If you are still unsure of your eternal home, you can be sure today. John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Turn to Jesus and He will save you NOW!
