Our Scripture reading today is Luke 23:18-21.
Verse 21, "But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him."
The attempts of a cruel Roman governor to release this humble, Jewish miracle worker had clearly failed.  It seemed no one was interested in releasing Jesus Christ.  This angry mob was willing to let a convicted killer go and send an innocent man to be crucified.  How could something like this happen?
What happened in Luke 23 is still happening today.  When someone rejects the truth over and over again, they will believe a lie.  The people shouting to crucify Jesus may have thought this was the right thing to do.  What or who had been shaping their thoughts?  It is very important that we consider this same question in our own lives.  Our world is filled with information.  This information needs to be filtered through the principles of the Word of God.  As Christians, we must be filled with the Spirit of God so we can cast down imaginations and the lies of the devil.
If I could please encourage those of you parents who have children in your homes to find out who is shaping the beliefs and thoughts of your children.  This is where unsupervised internet access can be very dangerous.  May God help us to be good stewards of the children He has given us.
