Today's Scripture reading is Romans 8:26-27.
Verse 26, "...but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us."
It has been said before that prayer is a great privilege.  The fact that we as sinners have access to the Holy God is a miracle provided by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus.  According to these verses, we also have the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf.  I like what Easton's Bible Dictionary has to say about this intercession: The Holy Spirit works upon our minds and hearts, enlightening and quickening, and thus determining our desires 'according to the will of God,' as our advocate within us. In prayer, we should desire to see God's will accomplished.  Who better to help us to pray in the will of God than the Spirit of God.  Even though we have access to the throne, we are still feeble (vs. 26 - "infirmities") man in need of the Holy Spirit's guidance in prayer.  God always provides for our spiritual growth and success.  Take some time today and pray.
