Our Scripture reading today is Deuteronomy 3:28, "But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see."

Moses, the great leader, had the job of preparing Joshua to take over for him.  Due to Moses' disobedience, he would not enter the Promised Land.  I am sure it would have been easy for Moses to pass on this final task that God had for him.  However, we read of no bad attitude in Moses as he trained his replacement.

We all have an opportunity today to encourage and strengthen the people we come in contact with.  It is easy to complain and wish our situation was better.  Instead, let us follow the example of Moses and do all we can to edify the next generation.  Be thankful we still have life to invest in others.
