Our Scripture reading today is 1 Thessalonians 5:11-15.

Verse 14, "Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men."

Maybe you have heard the saying, "What goes around, comes around."  It can mean before we are critical of someone, remember it could be you or me next time.  The Apostle Paul gives several challenges in this passage about helping people.  These are people with various needs and we could even say weaknesses.  He is challenging them to seek to engage those with needs to edify them and bring them to a place of restoration.

It should be our prayer to follow this same pattern.  We have been in need before and God used someone to strengthen and encourage us.  The words that Paul uses are words of action: warn, comfort, support, and be patient.  God's Spirit in us will lead us to be involved in edifying, encouraging, and equipping those within God's family.  We need not wait until we are a finished product to join in on this task.  Start today wherever God has placed you.
