Today's Scripture reading is Psalm 126:5-6, "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."

The end result of these verses is joy in the harvest. Sheaves are a representation of the harvest and those who are bringing in the sheaves are rejoicing. Now, let's see what precedes this rejoicing.

The first action we see is weeping. We can label this the preparation of the soil. This individual is greatly burdened for lost souls, and are praying for their hearts to be receptive to the Gospel message and for them to be saved. As you are getting ready for church this morning, please join with me in this prayer. Please pray for someone to be saved today!

The second action we see is going. The importance of prayer cannot be overemphasized. However, we must get the Gospel seed out of the barn and into the field if we expect to see a harvest. Gospel tracts in the closet at church or in our homes do not bring a harvest. As we are burdened for a lost world, we will take the Gospel to them. How often are you planting Gospel seed?

The third action we see is rejoicing. God has commissioned us to plant and water and He will bring the increase. He loves every lost sinner we are praying for to be saved. He loves every lost sinner we give a Gospel tract to. His love is what motivates us to pray and plant. He love is what brought salvation to you and me. When the harvest comes, we see this individual has great joy! The same should be seen in us when we hear of a lost sinner coming to Jesus Christ for salvation. Praise the Lord!!

If you are not involved somewhere in the above process, today is the day to get involved. It is every child of God's responsibility to be a witness of what He has done in our lives.

See you at church!
