Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 11:11-15.
Verse 15, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
The Lord Jesus used this particular phrase immediately following an important time of teaching and preaching.  What was said required your serious consideration.  Part of what Jesus was teaching had to do with John the Baptist being the Elijah of the New Testament.  They were not the same people, but had the same spirit and power.  Luke 1:17, "And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
Every time we open the Word of God, it is impertive that we give it our undivided attention.  Whether we are reading a passage for the first or for the 50th time, God has something He wants us to "hear".  The Scripures never get stale or mouldy.  They are like fresh bread coming out of the oven.  The are ready to be consumed and to provide the spiritual nourishment we need.  God has equipped us with all we need to "hear" what He is saying in His Word.  The Holy Spirit will help us to hear and apply the Word of God.
