Our Scripture reading today is 1 Timothy 6:12-16.
Verse 16, "Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
These verses of Scripture gave young Timothy the courage he would need to faithfully fight the good fight of faith. They are intended to be profitable to us as well. We are challenged with a proper response to the Lord Jesus. He is and always will be worthy of our honour. My attitude must not be what can Jesus do for me, but how can I worship Him in a greater way.
The Lord Jesus has everlasting power. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We are speaking of the One Who is interceding on our behalf. He is our Saviour and Shepherd! It is our privilege to be safe and secure in His fold. He gives us of His immortality when we turn to Him for salvation. 1 Corinthians 15:54, "So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." Death has no power over the child of God. Praise Him! Praise Him!
