Our Scripture reading today is Acts 6:1-4.
Verse 3, "Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business."
The apostles of the early church were in great need of help.  The day to day ministry of the church was being neglected.  A meeting was called and it was decided they would appoint seven men to help carry the load.  What God is emphasizing to me this morning is the description of these men, "Honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom".  If there was ever a day the church needed men like this it is right now.  When I say the church, I am not referring to the one across town.  I am referring to the Anchor Baptist Church.  We need men of God to lead in their homes.  We need men of God to lead in the community and within the local church.  This is no way is meant to minimize the need for godly women within the church.  It is my Biblical conviction that God created men to be loving and humble leaders.
Would you please pray with me for the men of Anchor Baptist Church?  Would you please pray with me that we would lead as God has called us to?  I am greatly concerned about the young men of our church.  The men who are in their late teen years and in their 20's.  Would you also join with me in praying for this particular age group?  It is my prayer for God to use me to influence each and every generation of men for His honour and glory.  I love you, men!  The church of living God needs our leadership.
