Our Scripture reading today is John 1:1-5.
Verse 5, "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."
As we pray for family and friends to be saved, we are praying for them to come from darkness to light. It is the goal of Satan to keep people bound in sin. He is attempting to keep them in the darkness of this world. Part of the process of someone coming out of darkness can be our being a light for them. Jesus said it this way in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." We are not the Light, but we must allow His light to shine through us leading people out of darkness. While we are letting His light shine through us, we are to deliver the truths found in His Word. The new creation (born again) is made possible by the banishing of spiritual darkness through the light of His Word.
