Our Scripture reading today is John 17:14-17.
Verse 14, "I have given them thy word;"
Verse 17, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
These verses are part of the Lord Jesus prayer to His Father. They are an encouragement to every child of God. We have a resource to protect and purify us at the same time. John 15:3, "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." God's Word continues to be our sword to fight off the temptations sent by our enemy. God's Word continues to move us further away from this temporal world and close to our eternal home in Heaven. Colossians 1:5, "For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;"
With this in mind, what is your plan regarding reading and meditating in God's Word every day? We will never exhaust the eternal truths found in the pages of Scripture. The enemy will do everything possible to keep us away from God's Word. As God's children, it is imperative that we ignore the enemy and immerse ourselves in God's Word.
