Our Scripture reading today is 2 Timothy 2:19, "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure,
having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of
Christ depart from iniquity."

At the very moment we trusted Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour, the Holy Spirit
took up residence in us. He has various functions, but one of them is to lead us away
from sin and to righteousness. Before salvation, we could sin and not have any
"voice" inside of us telling us what we did was wrong. After salvation, we have the
Holy Spirit reproving us for sin. This is a blessing from God.

As children of God, we are to be separated from the world and unto Jesus Christ. We
are not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. We are to follow God's
commands. If we call ourselves Christians, there should be plenty of evidence to
convict us of this claim. Don't do a disservice to the cause of Christ by living
consistently in sin and not in righteousness. We ought to live right because we love
God and are thankful for His love for us.
