Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:33, "Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall save it."
We taught on this principle in the Sunday school series, "It's Not What You Think".  This verse of Scripture does not make sense to the natural man.  It is, however, a spiritual truth that has been proven time and time again.  The world says to keep all we can.  God says to look for ways you can give and then give some more.  God always blesses giving!
Another application that comes to me from this verse is deciding where we will place our life.  Will will place our life in the hands of our Creator or we will place our life in our hands?  One will lead to saving my life and one will lead to losing my life.  I am quite sure we all know which one is wiser to chose.  Sadly, far too many Christians have decided against His hands for their own.  They have decided to go the direction that looks more appealing to the flesh.
This brings us back to the Sunday morning message on July 9...TODAY, I choose Jesus.  Consecration is not just a one time decision.  It must take place often.  It is the choice to lose my life in His will, but I am actually saving my life in the process.
