Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 140:12, "I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor."
There are many times we cannot see the cause for things that are happening in our lives. We are unable to see everything that is taking place behind the scenes. Our confidence and trust must remain anchored in the One Who is faithful to fulfill all that He has set out to do in our lives.
I am reminded time and time again of those in lands who are being afflicted for their faith. There are even many people today who are poor, by this world's standard, because of their faith. They are unwilling to compromise their beliefs which leads to a lack of work or no work at all. The Psalmist reminds us that God is keeping score and will not allow the difficulties to go unnoticed. He will in some way deliver them who remain faithful to Him in spite of being persecuted and afflicted. God is faithful!
