Our Scripture reading today is 1 Kings 19:13-18.
Verse 18, "Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him."
Every once and awhile the Lord reminds us that we are not the only ones still standing for the truth and preaching the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. The prophet Elijah needed one such reminder. He had got to the place where he thought he was the last man standing when actually there were 7,000 just like him.
Our family had the privilege of visiting Capital City Baptist Church in Victoria, BC, this past Sunday. This church has been preaching the message of salvation on the island since 1981. Pastor Timothy Janzen has been the under-shepherd for the last four years and the hand of God is on this beacon of hope. It was an encouragement to meet and greet many brothers and sisters in Christ for the first time. Some are new Christians and others have been saved for years. They are following the Holy Spirit's guidance in order to spread the Gospel in Victoria and beyond.
I would like to encourage you today that there are others who love the Lord in Vancouver, Victoria and all over BC. It is a great blessing to be part of a family that is seeking to following our Father's will. We must continue to pray for one another as the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
