Our Scripture reading today is John 15:7-8.
Verse 7 - "My words abide in you..."
The word
abide in verse 7 means to stay, remain, continue. I am quickly reminded of
Psalm 119:11, "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." The victorious Christian life will always be anchored in the Word of God. God's Word is vital to being victorious. I repeat, we cannot live in victory without abiding in God's Word. One might think with a formula so simple, it would be easy to follow. Unfortunately, we allow the world, the flesh and the devil to complicate things and keep us from filling our minds with the Word of God. Our enemy definitely knows the importance of God's Word in the life a follower of Jesus Christ. This is why he will continue to distract us with other good things. Give attention today to the best!
