Our Scripture reading today is Luke 6:32-34.
Verse 33, "And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same."
The teaching of the Lord Jesus continues with an emphasis on doing good and loving people whether or not they do good to us or love us.  We are prone to live this way.  If some one is good to us, we are willing to return the favour.  If someone loves us, we are willing to love them.  When we got saved, we became a new creation in Christ Jesus.  Therefore, we should live different from the people of this world.
Please take note of the following reasons why we should be able to live differently in this world:
  • "They do in fact have something that others do not have; they are in fact renewed, repentant, and redeemed by Jesus Christ.
  • They have a power that others do not have; they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.
  • They have the Spirit of God dwelling within them.
  • They have a better future than others do."
It should be our daily goal to be more like Jesus Christ.  When we do good to all people, it is one way we will show we are growing.
