Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:6-7.

Verse 7, "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

The baby Jesus was not provided with a kingly place to be born.  He definitely had a humble beginning with His first bed being a manger.  Humanly speaking, Jesus Christ had a humble beginning in Bethlehem and humble ending at Calvary.

Dr. Luke writes that there was "no room" for Joseph, Mary and Jesus anywhere except where they kept the animals.  No room for Jesus??  It is unclear for sure who wrote the words to Have You Any Room for Jesus?, but the question is one we must all answer.  One verse of this hymn stood out to me this morning.

Room for pleasure, room for business,
But for Christ the Crucified,
Not a place that He can enter,
In the heart for which He died?

Has something taken the place of our relationship with the Lord Jesus?
Do we have any room for Jesus??
