Our Scripture reading today is Luke 5:3-7.
Verse 6, "And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake."
These professional fisherman knew that it was impossible for them to catch anything.  They had been fishing all night without a single fish and now they were told to cast their nets and there would be fish.  It would seem they were hesitant, but did follow through on what Jesus told them to do.  We read in verse 6 how their obedience brought a multitude of blessings.
The principle is simple, but many times it is difficult to follow.  God blesses our obedience.  Obedience will always be the way we show that we believe.  In what area of our lives are we holding back on complete obedience?  Is our weak faith causing us to be hesitant about a particular step God is asking us to take?  Luke 17:5, "And the apostles said unto the Lord, increase our faith."  Our God will supply the faith we need in order to obey His instructions.
Coming to Jesus Christ is completely based on what He did for us. (His death, burial, and resurrection)  As a follwer of Jesus Christ, we will be asked to do certain things.  As we see in verse 6 of our text, the blessings always follow the doing.  Today is the day to start doing whatever He is asking of us and all for His glory!
