Our Scripture reading today is Romans 8:14, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
The very moment we by faith turn to Jesus Christ for salvation, we are in dwelt by the Spirit of God. He will never leave us! This is a very encouraging promise that will carry us through life's difficult days. The Holy Spirit is not just taking up space in us. He is there to lead us. God knew we would need a leader. God lovingly gave us His Spirit to lead the way.
It is important that we are willing to be led. “It does not say, ‘As many as are driven by the Spirit of God.’ No, the devil is a driver, and when he enters either into men or into hogs he drives them furiously. Remember how the whole herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea. Whenever you see a man fanatical and wild, whatever spirit is in him it is not the Spirit of Christ.” (Spurgeon)
The Spirit of God will lead all of God's children into holiness, usefulness, love, truth and so much more. We are blessed!
