Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 1:10-17.

Verse 12, "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:"

Who initiated the plan of redemption?  Whose idea was it to provide a sacrifice for our sins?  Who allowed His only begotten Son to be brutally and unjustly murdered?  We learn from verse 10, Who it was...the FATHER.  John 3:17, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."  God the Father made it possible for sinners like you and me to be qualified for His inheritance of light.  Notice, it is not a wage, but an inheritance.  It is impossible to work for it no matter how hard someone tries.  Titus 3:5, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;".

The Apostle Paul admonishes not only the Christians of Colosse, but all Christians today.  Give thanks to the Father for the gift of the Son!  Give thanks to the Father for the gift of Light!
