Our Scripture reading today is Luke 5:4-6.
Verse 6, "And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake."
Simon and his friends had had a terrible night out on the water.  They caught a grand total of zero fish.  This was not simply a hobby for these men.  It was their profession.  Their bills being paid depended on their catching fish.  They knew how to catch fish.  I am sure Simon may have thought he knew more about fishing than a carpenter.  Regardless of the circumstances, Simon listens to the Lord Jesus and lets down a net.  He exercised his faith and would be greatly rewarded.
The Miracle worker was in the boat with them, but they still had to have the faith to put the net back into the water.  We have the Miracle worker in our lives, but we, too, must get our net back into the water.  Do we truly believe God is able?  What step of faith is He asking us to take today?  Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
