Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 6:11-12.
Verse 12, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
The Apostle Paul makes a declarative statement with regards to the spiritual battle every born again believer faces.  It is not necessary for us to go looking for a battle or a fight.  As a follower of Jesus Christ, we are in one.  Our text as well as other text remind us that this daily conflict is not with our fellow man, but with Satan and his forces.  2 Corinthians 10:3-4, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;).
I am thankful to the LORD that He has already provided us the victory.  It is our responsibility to claim it.  Colossians 2:14-15, "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."  As soon as we turn to Jesus Christ and receive His gift of salvation, we are able to claim all the victories He provided at the cross and the empty tomb.  The victories we have are not because of our strength, but because we claim what Jesus Christ has already accomplished.  He is always our source of victory!
