Our Scripture reading today is John 15:18-21.

Verse 20, "Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also."

The world hates God and His children because the world is under the control of Satan.  This world's system will always being going the opposite direction of God.  They are completely the opposite of one another.  Our walk should indicate Whose side we are on.  Yes, we are to open our mouth and speak the truth in love, but long before that it should be evident there is something different about us.  1 Peter 2:9, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"

We have the privilege of standing for truth and in turn facing persection for the glory of God.  This also gives us an opportunity to show people the love of God and be the light that guides them to Jesus Christ.  May we not run from persection, but seek the boldness needed to go through it.
