Our Scripture reading today is Acts 8:5, 34-35.
Verses 34-35, "And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus."
The confrontation of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch has miracle written all over it. The Holy Spirit led Philip into the desert to reach one man with the Gospel. Philip was preaching and witnessing to scores of people when all of the sudden he was commissioned to go to a dry, barren place. God's plan may not always make sense to us, but God's plan is always the right plan.
After reading these verses this morning, what stood out to me was, "Philip opened his mouth". Yes, the most important message is Jesus Christ and what He did for us. This life changing message needs to be shared with others. For the most part, we need to open our mouths to do this. Who have you shared the message of Jesus Christ with in recent days? It is our responsibility as followers of Jesus Christ to be His ambassadors. Let's all look for opportunities to open our mouth and speak the truth in love.
