Our Scripture reading today is Luke 13:23-25.
Verse 25, "When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:"
The sad reality that there will come a day when people will want to come to Jesus Christ, but it will be too late. They have lived their lives for everything this world had to offer and it only brought temporal satisfaction. They stayed on the broadway and it led them away from the One Who could make something out of their life.
Have you entered in through the straight or narrow gate? What are you trusting in to take you to Heaven when you die? There is really only one Biblical answer that takes a sinner and turns him or her into a saint. Jesus Christ said it in John 14 and it still applies today. He will always be the only way to God the Father.
As we live in this confused world, may we look for opportunities to point people to the Prince of Peace!
