Our Scripture reading today is Amos 4:12-13.
Verse 12, "Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel."
While this passage was directed specifically to the nation of Israel, it can be applied to every generation and to all people.  The last statement of verse 12 is a sober warning to us all: "prepare to meet thy God..."  We do not get a warning from God the day before we will go out into eternity.  Our lives must constantly be a matter of preparation.  This will be a meeting like no other.  God knows our thoughts and intents.  God knows everything about us.  When we meet Him, there will be no way of hiding anything from Him.
It is most important for the lost soul to prepare now to meet God.  Those who die without Jesus Christ's blood applied to their sin account will stand before God the Judge.  They will be found guilty and sentenced to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.  There will be no more rebelling and revolting at this meeting.  There will be no more "atheistic" thinking.  Every knee at this meeting will bow.  Keep delivering the truth of the Gospel to those who are not ready to meet God!
It is my prayer that we who are saved also prepare to meet God.  As we long less for this world and more for our meeting with God, we are preparing to meet Him.  Never forget that we are only passing through this world.  Prepare to meet your God!
