Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 6:9-10.

Verse 10, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

A timely reminder this morning that we should take advantage of every opportunity God brings across our path to be a blessing to people and especially the family of God.  Paul did write that we are to good unto ALL men.  Instead of making it all about us, we should be on the lookout for someone to be a blessing to each and every day.  When we live this way, our problems may not disappear, but we will definitely stop thinking about them so much.  In a sense, by focusing on doing for others, we are actually helping ourselves.

Another emphasis that speaks to me in this verse is that we should not delay in this privilege of doing good to others.  When the opportunity comes, we need to be sensitive to the leading of God's Spirit and move into action.  Paul wrote to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:18, "That they do good, that they be rich in good works, READY to distribute, willing to communicate;"  There are plenty of people who need good to be done unto them.  Be READY!
