Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 2:8-11.
Verse 10, "To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ."
The Apostle Paul emphasizes how important it is for us to be willing to forgive.  Please read verse 11.  There is a connection between not being willing to forgive and being deceived by our enemy, Satan.  Paul wants to forgive so that Satan will not have an advantage over him.  In addition, we are reminded how it is even possible to forgive.  We must forgive "in the person of Christ."  My ability to forgive comes through my relationship with the Lord Jesus.  He enables us to forgive and forgive and forgive.  Ephesians 4:32 says, "And be ye kind one toward another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."  We not only forgive through the Lord Jesus, we also forgive for the Lord Jesus.
Our enemy is always waiting and watching to bring destruction into our lives.  One way to prepare is to always offer forgiveness.  Who might you need to forgive today?
